I started watching Hana Kimi because I was bored and I was getting into S.H.E and Fahrenheit. Minutes later of watching the first episode, I was obsessed! Haha I kept telling Mary to watch. I downloaded the episodes but after watching it again, I started to get sick of it. I haven’t read the manga and I’m not planning to but the series itself is pretty good if you only watch it once.

Synopsis
Three years prior, a girl named Lu Rui Xi saw high jumper Zuo Yi Quan on television and was inspired by him. She decides to transfer to his school, E.K., and become his friend, even though the particular school he attends is strictly boys-only. After a shaky start, including a rude collision with Quan outside of the classroom, Rui Xi is able to settle in at the school. By a stroke of luck, she has been assigned to be Quan’s room mate.
Soon, she is accepted as a normal student, but after sustaining an injury to the head, her gender is discovered by Mei Tian - the gay school health official - and Quan (whom she does not realise knows her secret). Mei Tian becomes her confidant, but Quan keeps Rui Xi’s secret to himself in order to protect her identity and keep her by his side. Jin Xiu Yi begins to question his own sexuality when he finds himself attracted to this new student, whom he believes to be male.
They all become great friends and overcome many obstacles along the way, such as the interschool competition where Rui Xi was harassed by fellow students in the No. 1 dormitory, Xiu Yi’s accustion of cheating and several other times when Rui Xi’s identity was at stake. The main couple, Rui Xi and Quan, fall deeper into love without noticing over the course of the series.
My thoughts
I fell in love with Wu Chun after watching this. I’m over him now but yeah. This series has a quirky and stupid humour which was quite hilarious. Ella is a wonderful actress and she did look quite convincing as a boy, the role suited her…ALOT. Jiro’s character got annoying after a few episodes and I didn’t like his exaggerated acting, maybe he was suppose to do that but I didn’t like it. Chun can improve in his acting, he’s not one of the best actors out there so therefore I hope he can do better in his next series. If I did this review a few months ago I would say his acting was outstanding, but I’m not a fan of him anymore so sorry Chun fangirls!
I’m sure lots of girls are jealous of Ella.
Gosh, the school doesn’t even look like a school! I’ve never been to a boarding school but their rooms are not what I expect boarding schools rooms to look like. The accessories and colourful things in their room is just unbelievable. And their classroom back wall has graffiti in it…of sport brands like Puma and stuff. Woah. I would love to go to a boarding school like that.
Gay doctor & Rui Xi
I still find unbelievable that Rui Xi’s real identity wasn’t discovered by her friends and such. Like c’mon, pretty unrealistic yeah? But it is just a drama after all so they get to chose what happens (well they had to follow the manga but whatever)

This was the first Taiwan series I watched and I was hooked, but this was months ago, right now I’m liking Jdramas and of course TVB! The relationship between Rui Xi, Quan and Xiu Yi was cute, their friendships was adorable!
Final Judgement
4 out of 5, as I said I got sick of watching it again and that means what? It was NOT the best drama. Watching dramas over and over again and the suspense and humour still makes you tingle is what’s classified as a really good drama. Unfortunately this doesn’t fit in that category although it’s a really popular Taiwan series and has been broadcast in many countries. I still like this drama but it won’t be favourite drama again.
P.S - watch out for the sequel coming out at the end of this year or beginning of next!
I like the Japanese version so far but it’s so fangirl-centric it’s getting to me. It’s like 45 minutes of fan service. Oh and about the unrealisticness you should see the CRAZY Japanese version.

Well the only difference is just the clothing but i swear, Ella looks like a man alot, at least the Jap version one doesn’t look that much of a man. Ella is very manly LOL!

I actually thought the doctor played a lovely role in this series. Certainly not ..safe, but more of a humorous attempt. Heightened intensity, perhaps? Jiro’s acting didn’t bother me overly too much, unlike Ella’s facial expressions. Wasn’t it a bit too extreme? Or maybe it’s just me. I’m definitely in for the thought of how Wu Chun can improve. If I recall correctly, his blog said he’ll continue to strive for greatness, or along those lines. They’re making a second season, aren’t they? It certainly is outrageous how the friends didn’t figure out her secret. It was hilarious how Jiro thought he was homosexual, causing so many misperhaps. Hope you’ll be able to find a drama that’s continuously on your best. Perhaps you would like to give Nobuta wo Produce a try? Yamapi is simply delectable in there, in my opinion.

OMFG! I didn’t find this movie that hilarious actually! other dramas with Wu Chun in there is more better im going to watch KO One with Jiro and hopefully that might change my view about his acting! arghh i found that there were only a few jokes that were funny! ==’ wells because im a S.H.E Fan I’m still downloading it and if number two comes out and Selina and Hebe star in it i will definately watch! xD.. but just to let you know..the ending was a let down.. ==’
Chalkedwords - the doctor was a good actor, i’ve seen him play this male lead in some other drama, he was pretty good. I cringed everytime Ella did her jaw dropping,eyes popping out facial expression. Funny at first but got boring and annoying soon after. Yeah, Wu chun did say he needed to improve and stuff so thats good. I actually have a few dramas that i watch over and over and won’t get tired, eg Heart of Greed, Forensic Heroes (mainly TVB ones) LOL evee has that 200 pound beauty movie, maybe i’ll watch it. It’s alright, we have around 40 posts so it may take awhile to see what reviews we did on what drama.

Try watching the Japanese version, it’s better. I got sick of this one when I watched it over the internet and I end up not completing it, then I tried the Japanese version, and now, I’m obsessed! I’m still in the process of watching, though. I’m currently watching the ninth episode.

its really nice than hana kimi japanese version and the story is really nice and also the character are all nice…….
If I have to compare both hana kimi I would have to say that hana kimi Tawdrama is better because it resemble the hana kimi manga.
I heared that they cancelled the sequel of hana kimi 2 because they were afraid that the aud. would like it, but how would the producer know if they won’t aleast try. In order to make a great drama show you have to put alot of passiona and effort into making the show. If the producer think the sequal that they producer wasn’t good enough, then rewrite it again until become better then the first. If they can’t think of a way to make the second one, why not ask the us and have us help you think of a story to make the sequel.
I have seen movie and drama where the producer ask the aud. to help produce the next sequal and it always come out better then the first.
so make another hana kimi sequel.
