Due to licensing issues and rights with Calvin’s outfit from The X-Family series, HIM has delayed the X-Family OST Soundtrack a total of 4 times now. Many fans have pre-ordered and waited for over a month for the Soundtrack, now HIM has finally confirmed that the final release date for the X-Family OST will be August 31st, 2OO7.

My thoughts
‘Superb’, ‘Don’t know how to love’ and ‘Willing not to love you’ are definitely the three most favourite songs for me from this OST. Even though I am not a ‘big’ Fahrenheit fan I found the songs quiet catchy. Superb is an upbeat song and a fast song to sing. At first I thought they were going to be doing some sort of rap or something but I guess not. From their first album till now, I must admit that their singing has indeed improved but they’ve got a long way to go still compared to other artists out there. The beat is actually quiet catchy and they are so damn SHUAI in the MV.

‘Don’t know how to love’ the ending song for the drama but isn’t used until episode 30 and up or so, but it’s used as an insert song. It’s a softer and slower song, but isn’t the only one in the album, along with ‘You are all my memories’, ‘Willing not to love you’ and ‘Water slide’.

This album really shows who can sing or not as they each did a solo in the album, many fans were angry at Chun not releasing a single but he’s not really a main in the drama. I’d still say my most favourite is Arron still, he’s got a really soft voice and it’s deep. Not excluding Jiro and Calvin I personally think that did a very good job on their song as well.

Wu La Ba Ha is another upbeat song in the album sung by some of the cast of the X Family, it’s a rap sort of song which is pretty cool, ‘freeze wu la ba ha’ I was laughing throughout this song and I love Xie He Xian’s vocals

Final Judgement

I give this album 4/5 as there were too many instrumentals. The instrumentals were alright but I’d prefer for them to have more songs than instrumentals. After listening to this soundtrack Fahrenheit are beginning to leave a good impression on me. Their singing is improving and for any who hasn’t seen the drama. A must watch you’d be as we say ‘roffling’ at the scenes and stupid jokes they make.

Wu La Ba Ha is copying one of my country song.
The title of the song is Dangdut is the Music of my country by Project Pop and it’s released about 2-3 years ago and it’s a hit in Indonesia.

Shame if this Fahrenheit group only could copy from other songs… Really uncreative….

lol the soundtrack lacks alot of tracks D: anyone remembered the part where xiu and han played tgt? that was a nice song but i dont see it in the ost…plus there was the part where they had to play some music to get han’s spirit back…T.T real disappointment..

    reply to Adi:

Oh well…is it a big deal that this song is copied from Project Pop’s song?

    Don’t be ridiculous

What about Taiwan’s drama (and maybe songs that we just don’t know of) that have been illegally copied by indonesians?

well. i suppose i can say the same to those irresponsible indonesians…

“Shame on them…really uncreative”….ha ha ha

p.s.: the singer of Wu La Ba Ha is not Fahrenheit. it’s only one of the personnel, Jiro Wang with other 3 people that i don’t know…Pauline Lan, Huang Xiao Rou and Xie He Xian (please read the track list above) :p

@ Anonymous and Adi: Well correctly this really isn’t called copying, they’re doing ‘covers’, alot of artists have done cover songs over the past. I think they have rights to remake the songs.

  9. 9 Anonymous January 9, 2008 at 6:38 pm

    hi Evee,

i agree with you on the term ‘covers’ :)

  10. 10 xinoled January 29, 2008 at 1:05 am

but if it’s cover version,… should be sing in the same lyrics,.. at least they had same meaning,..
so what is Wu La Ba Ha about ? dangdut in korea ?? hehehe

  11. 11 Evee January 29, 2008 at 10:25 pm

xinoled - That would be correct, but then S.H.E have been known for doing covers and the lyrics are in chinese where as the songs are in english and they mostly have different lyrics, but those are still counted as covers.

Sry to be offensive but u can should nt judge someone before u know the facts well….that’s a line my teacher once said to me.
They have had brought this song and translated it into mandarin. It was stated very clearly in the album’s lyrics book.
Above all,”this sort of rap with a bit of song in the background is not only native to indonesia. other countries also have this kind of rap, just with a bit of change. does it mean that if an Indonesian speaks english in Indonesia, they are copying Britain or America or Australia because english is the language of their country? so it means that rap is only permitted if it is sang or said in indonesia and not other countries? “(as quoted from someone)
    urs truly,
    jan

  13. 13 Evee February 17, 2008 at 9:16 pm

@ jan - I agree. Though still not being disrespctful towards Adi. I think that they would’ve had rights to buy the song and credit it cause it would be some hefty fines if they just took the song of sucj..
