Beautiful You/ Sennen Koi Uta is Tohoshinki’s 22nd single and first single after the set of “Trick” singles. The single was released on 2008.04.23 and Sennen Koi Uta was used as the theme song of the Korean drama Taioushinjiki.

This is a review of the C version by the way, I’ll be adding the other versions soon enough.

My Thoughts
Two ballads, yay! I’m a sucker for ballads and Tohoshinki tend to do ballads pretty well so good news all around.

Beautiful You is a guitar driven song with a more mature instrumental based around the guitar (and it reminds me of Suga Shikao music… just not as good). I don’t like the song very much though, just their voices don’t match with the instruments in this song and the transition between verses/ choruses is a little choppy for my liking.

Sennen Koi Uta is my favourite of the two main tracks. It’s a straight forward ballad with a beautiful fantasy like arrangement. The song starts off well with the verse but the chorus is a little underwhelming as I listen to it. The bridge re-entry of the final chorus though was great and redeems the song though.

The korean version of Sennen Koi Uta is also featured on this single. It has pretty much the exact same instrumental as the Japanese version but is 1 second shorter lol. I just think this song flows better in Japanese though. Still, it’s a great song.

Final Judgment
3.5 out of 5, (to me) there was one good A-side + B-side, Beautiful You was just average.
