Well it’s actually been a while since I’ve done a drama review - I think. I really haven’t had much time with all the school work and pressure building up to watch a proper drama and finish it. All the spare time we have and I’m pretty sure that other writers can confirm this is spent on doing really random stuff for me – sleeping. Nonetheless, this isn’t a full drama review either but a first impression despite me being on episode 4 of the drama already but what the hay! Its been a while since I’ve done anything Taiwanese related so bear with me…

BoA - EAT YOU UP Preview - Best of Asia, Bring on America

Alright. Well. I heard the title and i was kinda ‘ewwing’ already. i can’t believe i’m gonna say this. BoA was my absolute FIRST JAPANESE ARTIST. i LOVED HER. Well, at her press conference on the 10/09/08 she announced (with a broken arm) that she would release her first single and soon album to the American market. Her single, titled “EAT YOU UP’ now has two previews along with her brand new black and white american home page.

S.H.E – Miss Universe MV

S.H.E. from debut till now have been well known for their uniqueness, and therefore without a doubt that after 7 years together this next release would not be any different. S.H.E. have come back with their 11th album title Miss Universe without a doubt fans will see a new and refreshing side of S.H.E.

2 PM - 10 Points out of 10 MV

Finding things to review rather than doing something productive since 2007.

2 PM is the newly debuted boy-band from JYP and it’s the band he “stakes his pride on” as the first boyband he’s produced since g.o.d stating that he wouldn’t have let them debut “if they weren’t different”. 2 PM is considered the counterpart to 2 AM and together they make “One Day” (LOL). While 2 AM is more concentrated on RnB ballads, 2 PM will concentrate on dance/ pop tunes and their difficultly choreographed dance moves.

East of Eden episodes 1 and 2

MBC is aiming to improve their year of rating drought with East of Eden, a 50 episode story based on the development and changes in Korea from the 1960s to 2000s, spanning 40 years and the story of two men, who were born on the same day at the same time at the same hospital, and their crossed destiny and revenge. The story holds much familiarity with Korean audiences despite the clichéd storyline but that’s not enough to guarantee good ratings apparently, a huge star-studded cast is also present with the likes of Song Seung Hun, Park Hae Jin, Han Ji Hye, Lee Da Hae, Lee Yeon Hee and Dennis Oh headlining the list (but of course there are a large number of stars in the supporting list as well) so if this drama becomes another flop for MBC I’ll try really hard but my response would be “sucks to be you”. Still, current ratings have been steadily rising (11.3% episode 1 to 17.8% episode 2) so maybe MBC has a hit on their hands (pity if this monster wasn’t a hit).

I say all this but the war of ratings mean nothing, I don’t usually care, popular =/= good so I took all the anticipation with a grain of salt and decided to jump in thinking that East of Eden would be pure populist material (otherwise known as overrated crap) and well, when you jump into something with this frame of mind chances are you will be walking out satisfied. I did just that with the first two episodes of East of Eden and as expected, I left with my low expectations exceeded.
