WOW! No way did I think TVB can produce such a heart throbbing, tension gripping, excitement rising 20 episodes. This 20 episodes is when you start to know the real personalities of the characters, are they evil? What do they want from the Wah’s family? Why are they doing all this? Why is this leaving me in anger and tears? Man I hate ________ so much!
A list of the characters that I like (due to their characters) :
Ron: starts appearing in the first 20 something episodes. I must say, although he looks a bit grim with his expressions he hasn’t done such a bad job. I think he’s improved a far bit. I really like his character too, how he thinks of everyone else before himself.
Sheren: An veteran that I have liked more and more when I see her act. How she says her lines…it’s so strong. These 20 episodes can show that she and Michael Miu still love each other alot, and will do anything to save each other, even if it will cost themselves a life. The sad thing is that they still don’t get back together…yet
Damien Lau: Another veteran and one of the most important male leads. He’s acting is done really well and I like how he’s character is smart at work but gets frightened easily when one of his family or friends are in danger.
Raymond Lam: This isn’t his best series. He didn’t do superb but he really got into his character around episodes 32-34. He got really engaged into his tears and his screaming when he found out what Charmaine has done.
A list of the characters that I hate (due to their characters) :
Charmaine Sheh: I got really angry at her when she found out who ‘helped’ kill her mum and the hurt and humiliation she gave to Raymond. Also with her baby, how she threatened the Wah’s family to kneel to her and to give her $10000000 or else she will abort the baby. However, her crying scenes were done really well and it showed that she really loved her mum and will do anything for her.
Joe Ma: Why did he betray Damien? Why is he helping his evil uncle now? Why is he dating Jessica if he hates the Wah family? Why? Why? WHY? Joe Ma turned evil before it reached episode 30. I’m really angry that he’s helping Ng Wai Kwok and now that he’s treating Joe worse than a dog I’m really hoping that he will help Damien again, after all they’ve worked together for 10 years. But I don’t think that will happen (heh spoilers) BUT.. he’s evilness was shown well and he can play an evil character.
Ng Wai Kowk: (*#$(*#^%(*# he’s the character that I hate most in this series. I hate how he nearly caused Michael to die, how he stole Michael’s wife, how he doesn’t believe in anyone, just himself, how he wants the Wah family to die, how he doesn’t trust in love, how he just loves other people’s miserable lives. I really hope he becomes bankrupt and die or something. On the plus side, he’s acting was done so good. To make the audience hate you so much, you must portray your evil character with your eyes, mouth and dramatic actions.
Character that I hate because of their acting :
Toby Leung: I thought she would have improved somewhat later in the series in her acting but I stand corrected. She hasn’t. And maybe never will. Her character was so annoying to me, how she’s always with her dad, they look like a couple instead of daughter father relationship! No wonder rumours were spread when they were working together. Her voice annoys me so much and her crying scenes, I can cry better! She only got into this series because of her father’s connections but I think Linda Chung will suit this role much more than Toby.
It sort of got confusing how they kept flying from Beijing to Hong Kong because you get lost! I was so happy when Ron was in the racing car competition. I never expected it to end that way. Hahaha Ng Wai Kowk was so angry :D Wah Jit Automobile Industry will go far, I know that for sure.
I’m always anticipating for the next episode and chanting hurry up and finish downloading! I think I like this series better than Heart Of Greed (not by far though) because of the complicated yet interesting plotline and it leans alot to the business side which I enjoy. Every episode thrills me, I’m so absorbed into it that I don’t know if I’m hungry (GASP!) So absorbed that I forget MSN (GASP!) So absorbed that I think so far, this series is my favourite this year.
