Super Junior Happy is another subgroup for SM. Now let’s see…how many subgroups have been created by the invicible 13 member boyband? Only Super Junior K.R.Y, Super Junior T, Super Junior M and now Super Junior H. SM really makes me laugh…what type of name is Super Junior Happy anyways..that’s like naming your child grapes or something. Excuse that random phrase, now let’s get on with the review.
Super Junior-Happy’s music style involves the common style of contemporary dance music and bubblegum pop, mainly targeting the music industry with their fun and entertaining style. Super Junior-H’s debut single, “Cooking? Cooking!” is a dance track with refreshing rhythm and quirky lyrics. Their goal is to give fans feelings of bliss and happiness with their music. My Thoughts
The beginning of Cooking? Cooking! makes me laugh. The crackling egg sounds are so random. It’s supposed to be a dance track and all but really, I get a jumping around vibe when I’m listening to it (Jumping = dancing?) I think the song sounds so mixed up and random in general. The chorus is slightly catchy but this song doesn’t allow the boys to show off their vocals and to me, this is definetely not the best song in this single, it’s great to listen to once in awhile and it does make you happy but this is not my type of song.
Cooking? Cooking! MV feat. Sunny from SNSD
Pajama Party consists of a more steadily beat opposed to Cooking? Cooking! EunHyuk’s rap is great. The song is one of the catchiest in this single and might just be my favourite. The song doesn’t pass the line of over doing the happiness and overall it’s a pretty decent song. Btw, the lyrics are LOL material :D
Pajama Party MV
You & I has a light country aura to it. Thank god the beat isn’t overly happy and the boys harmonizing, vocals and rap all sounds lovely. It’s nice to have a distraction from the ‘happiness’ because compared to the other songs, this song is actually pretty soft. The mini bridge sounded awesome at the beginning but then the guitar killed it but it lead to the chorus so that was alright.
Sunny sounds like some 80s disco song at the beginning but bends towards some hardcore pop through the song. Not that I have anything against this genre but this sounds pretty different from SJ other songs and it blends in well with the..you guess it, the ‘happiness’. The part where they sing ‘Sunny, sunny, sunny, I love you, I want you’ is extremely catchy and lovable.
Good Luck is the slowest song in this single. It’s interesting and compared to the other songs in this single, this is like a ballad. The melody is infectious and it comes with a catchy chorus consisting of simple lyrics and interesting yet basic instruments. This is my most favourable song from this single.
Overall
3 out of 5. I expected more from SJH, isn’t it aiming for the Japanese market? There’s just too many over the top happy and playful songs and it passed because of the last two songs which I believe is the best songs from this single.
You’d expect songs with these title to go with girl groups like SNSD or something like that. Damn what is SM tryiing to sell? SHINee FOR THE WIN! :D
Like, altho it’s a lil..girly, it’s still a nice song. But before I listened to it, I was like: What kind of a title is that? Like, other songs by them were like: Miracle, and Don’t Don, and all of a sudden, there’s Cooking, Cooking. o.o
imo, Good luck is my favorite. xD; You & I is adorable..
But yeah.. these are definitely the type of song aiming for the japanese market.
Because I mainly listen to Jpop and japanese music.
These songs fit their market perfectly.
But yeah I did expect it to be better.
Although its not all that good now.
Like most SJ music. It takes awhile to grow on you.
And I believe it’ll grow on you later, as time go on.
ahh , thanks for this . i really like suju (eun hyuk the most !!) . now , i’ll try to hear some of their songs . haha . thanks !!
AH! Sunny is the best song in the single! :D

I’m a fangirl. I know this and freely admit this. That being said, this is one random album. I love it, but it’s random.
Pajama Party and Sunny have to be my favorites though. Hyuk owns Pajama Party. I think the only problem I really have with Super Junir-Happy is their stage clothes. Holy crap those stylist unnies are on crack or something. It’s kinda hard to see guys my age and older rocking those outfits. Cute sometimes, but you know they have to be grimacing behind the scenes.
Agreed. Their clothes on stage does not only look uncomfortable but also horrible. I wonder what these boys did to their stylist to make her/him hate them so much…who has a snake or something attached to their pajamas when they sleep anyway?
SM seem to have the crappest stylist with SHINee as an exception. SJH look so awkward I myself cringe and don’t get me started on the other SM stars and their crazy stylists.

“But yeah.. these are definitely the type of song aiming for the japanese market.Because I mainly listen to Jpop and japanese music.

These songs fit the Korean market perfectly; these songs also can fit their(Japan) market perfectly.
Realize that not just Japan accepts music that is cute, and that Korea accepts it, and so do other countries, aside from America where they think anything cutish by men is “gay”. :)
This song was also PRODUCED and MADE for Korea, so although it may be suitable for the Japanese market, it was MADE for the Korean one. :)
I love Cooking?Cooking! n Pajama Party!! XD↵But,,,why must Sunny(Girls’ Generation) that has been MV’s star in Cooking?Cooking!… :(↵Why not me?? Xi xi xi… :)
